With Sebastian Vettel again getting Pole Position the outright win market has become even more uncompetitive, he’s priced at 1.36 to win this. I think he’ll win but I don’t want to be taking odd that short and would rather think a little outside the box. I’ve taken a look at the points finish market and think that I’ve found some value. McLaren have been getting stronger in the last few weeks, whilst they are still a long way behind the top four teams they are ahead of Sauber and Toro Rosso.
Sergio Perez qualified down in 14th behind both Toro Rosso and both Saubers, but in reality he is probably in the faster race car as shown by Jenson Button (8th). I expect Perez to get ahead of Hulkenberg, Vergne and Ricciardo as the race progresses and see his biggest threat to a points finish coming from both the Force India cars (15th and 17th).
With McLaren starting to find their feet this season I’m siding with the Mexican here as I think the odds on him getting into the points should be nearer the 2.00 mark. I also want to take on Daniel Ricciardo, the young Australian has had five points finishes twelve and has only improved on his qualifying position to race finish place three times this season. Starting 9th on the grid I cannot be backing him at odds-on to hold onto a points finish as I don’t think he or the car has decent race pace.
