DYNASTE is a horse who done well for me last season, the only blip was his 2nd at The Cheltenham Festival where he traded 1.3 in the run. This is a step up in class as this race is full of quality, there is Gold Cup and dual King George winner Long Run, however he had a poor run last time out and with that only three weeks ago I’m not convinced that he can be at the top of his game. There is also current Gold Cup champion Bobs Worth, who’s lightly raced but has done nothing wrong and he sets the standard. However my feeling is that Dynaste jumps as well as any of these but also has the speed on a flat track. Two years ago he won the fixed brushed hurdle at this meeting with Synchronised, Cape Tribulation and Sunnyhillboy all in behind.

Of the others Cue Card has doubts about whether he’ll stay the trip, Tidal Bay is class but off level weights and approaching 13 I don’t think he’ll have the speed for this, Silviniaco Contio comes into this as the reigning champion but he’s a horse I’ve never liked and I think this race is a lot tougher than last years was.

At 8.00 (7/1) Dynaste has to be the bet for me. They missed the Paddy Power last week, that was a race that he probably would have won, to come here. The stable know how good this horse could be and I’m sure they are confident of a big run.
