CHATTERBOX is a horse that I really like, I backed him at twice at Newbury last year and he won on both outings. In the first of those wins he beat My Tent Or Yours, who I think will win this years Champion Hurdle. In the 2nd of those wins he beat Lac Fontana, even when giving him over a stone in weight.
Puffin Billy has to concede weight all round and I don’t think he’s shown enough to have to do that. On form Chris Pea Green is a long way behind Irish Saint at the weights, based on the fact that Irish Saint beat Chris Pea Green by 18 lengths off level weights earlier this year. Irish Saint is a decent horse on form lines, but I think that there is more to come from Chatterbox.
Ifandbutwhynot is a decent handicapper, but that’s all he is. The likes of Chatterbox and Puffin Billy are actually Graded Class horses so I think he’ll need more than a 10lbs allowance.
Get Back In Line is an interesting runner off the weights but until I’ve seen him actually show something on the track I wouldn’t put my money on him.
Fleet Dawn hasn’t shown anything to suggest he could trouble the market leader and the same can be said of Lordofthehouse, who has question marks over whether he’ll even start.
I’m going to take the form of Chatterbox’s victory over My tent Or Yours as the best piece of form in the race, based on what that horse has archived and what I believe he will go onto achieve. I think he’s open to improvement and I’m surprised that he’s being sent handicapping this year.
