The Championship 30th November

I was expecting Brighton to be priced at sub 2.30 in this, due to them usually being under priced. However in this match they look to be slightly over-priced. Bournemouth were a ‘hype’ team over the summer, there was a belief that they had loads of money and would be able to sign loads of quality players. I didn’t buy that and therefore backed them at 2.50 to finish in the bottom half. They had a good start to the season but now they are being found out which has prompted them to change their style and become more defensive but they haven’t kept a clean sheet in nine games, they’ve also lost three of their last five with the other two being draws.

Brighton by contrast are starting to put a run of form together, they are unbeaten in five, winning the last three of those. Surprisingly they’ve managed to score in four games in a row and if that’s a sign of a change they should be able to find the net against a Bournemouth side who will give you a chance. Brighton are a side that do keep it tight defensively, they already have seven clean sheets this season and an eighth looks likely here.

I’m not expecting a high scoring encounter and 1-0 Brighton looks the most likely scoreline, with Brighton being priced at over 2.30 they look the bet here.

The goals, Jordan Rhodes, have dried up at Blackburn. They’ve failed to score in three of their last six games and their only win in that time was a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough. Leeds are currently the opposite, they have won four of their last five, including the last three and are scoring goals. They have Ross McCormack up front and he’s in a rich vein of form.

I was expecting Leeds to be 2.80 – 3.00 in this, considering that they are scoring goals and Blackburn aren’t. I was surprised that they are available at 3.40 and that looks the sensible bet to me.

Blackpool are being seriously under-rated in this match, I don’t see how they are odds-against let alone 2.15. They are 5th in the league and 17 points clear of 22nd placed Sheffield Wednesday. Blackpool have only lost once at home all season and that was due to a late Ipswich goal. They may have only won two of their last ten but they’ve had six draws in that time. In Sheffield Wednesdays last ten they have won one and lost four. They don’t look like they are suddenly about to climb the table and they were awful at home to Huddersfield last weekend. I was expecting to see Blackpool at maybe 1.90 and see no logical reason for them to be 2.15 as they are clearly better than Wednesday.
