Apparently Cardiff have take to the Premier League like a duck to water and Crystal Palace are the worst team in Premier League history if you listen to some media outlets and forum posts. However Cardiff are only four points ahead of the Londoners and that doesn’t seem to been much of a difference after 14 games. Yes, Cardiff have taken five points from their games against Everton and the Manchester clubs… but is that really enough to show that nine points from the other eleven games is worthy of them being favourites away from home?

My answer to that is, no. There is not much between these two clubs. Crystal Palace have probably won the games they should have apart from the disastrous performance against Fulham. Cardiff are hardly ripping up any trees away from home, they’ve been beaten by West Ham and Aston Villa and drawn with Hull, Norwich and Stoke managing one goal from them four games. the did win at Fulham but even that was thanks to a 90th minute winner.

With Palace conceding one goal in their last four games and picking up seven points in the process I don’t really see Cardiff’s goal expectancy being high enough to warrant them being 2.80. I’m not saying that Palace will suddenly start scoring goals, but simply that they are too big a price for this match. The only team to concede more shots that Cardiff this season is Fulham, so that would appear to give Palace a fair chance of getting on the score sheet in this one and where one goal is likely to be enough to win this match I have to side with the home side who are keeping clean sheets as opposed to the away side that aren’t scoring.
