Sgt Reckless is a horse I followed in two big bumper races at the end of last season, where her travelled well but disappointed at the finish. This season he has gone hurdling and it looks to really suit him. He won over course and distance last time out when betting heaving odds-on West Wizard by five lengths. He finished behind Amore Alato on his seasonal re-appearance but the way he won last time out suggested that he needed that run and improved for it. If he has more improvement in him than he has an excellent chance of making it back to back victories.

My Tent Or Yours is currently the horse that I think is most likely to beat Hurricane Fly at Cheltenham in March. He’s not a horse that I particularly like, and I made money taking him on with Champagne Fever in the Supreme earlier this year. The New One is actually a horse I do like and he was one of my bigger winner sat this years festival. However we are in a new season and I was taken by the way My Tent Or Yours won the Fighting Fifth, I didn’t expect him to win that day as Henderson’s usually need the run out but the way he won was eye-catching if he still has work left in him. He should improve for that run and in what looks to be a coin toss I’ll take the bigger price, on the horse that I think is improving quicker.

Dynaste is one of my favourite horses, despite his 2nd place at the festival being the only reason I didn’t pick up an accumulator for over £2000. He traded 1/3 in running that day and just didn’t seem to fin anything up the hill, finishing 2nd. He more than made up for it on his next run at Aintree though on a flat track. He looks at his best on a flat track,as he did at Kempton in this meeting last year and as he showed at Haydock. The run at Haydock last time out has set the yard stick for what he can do and he should improve for the run. He goes on all types of ground, doesn’t have any jumping issues and has bags of pace, essentially he is the perfect horse for this type of race. Interestingly his time here last year, in the Novices’ Chase, was three seconds quicker than that of Long Run managed when winning this race, even though Dynaste was eased down after dramatically when 12 lengths clear at the last fence.
