Grand National Meeting Day 2

MANY CLOUDS never got to show what he was capable of at Cheltenham last time out, as he was brought down by Don Cossack. The winner of that race was O’Faolains Boy, who beat Many Clouds into 2nd at Ascot in February. O’Faolains Boy was receiving 4lbs that day and at the prices I think it’s worth taking a chance on that form being reversed.

Holywell ran an excellent race at Cheltenham, however that was a Grade 3 Handicap. He has shown Grade 1 form before when 2nd to Solwhit at this meeting last year, so he can’t be discounted.

All of these have chances, but purely from a value point of view Many Clouds could have some improvement in him and we may not have seen the best of him yet, due to him being brought down last time out.

Rajdhani Express finished third in the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham with Boston Bob and Rathlin in behind, there’s no reason that those two should be able to reverse the form today.

Module finished third in the Champion Chase with Wishfull Thinking back in fifth, again I see no reason for that form to be reversed.

Ballynagour was an impressive winner of the Byrne Plate Handicap at the Festival, however a look through his previous form shows that he hasn’t been able to put two good races together in a short space of time.

My feeling is that the best form on offer in this race is that of MODULE, and at the price of 6.50 I think he’s worth taking a chance on, especially as he should enjoy the step back up in trip.
