Aljamaaheer was shaping up to be a top miler last season, he’s been dropped back to 6 furlongs, a distance he hasn’t raced over since his debut. The only reason I can think of for this is that today’s race is being used as a prep run for later in the season. For that reason and the belief that he doesn’t have the speed for this trip he’s one to take on.

HAMZA looks the best bet, he ran a credible 6th in the Al Quoz sprint at Meydan. He also came 3rd in The Abbey at Longchamps back in October. He has the best sprint form in the race, already has a run under his belt and in receipt of 4lbs from Tropics he looks to be overpriced.

I wasn’t going to back TOORMORE in this as I thought he’d be very short. He’s well clear on ratings and hasn’t done anything wrong in his three wins so far. In those three wins he’s looked very comfortable, so even if he hasn’t improved over the winter he should still have too much for these.

Be Ready looked an interesting horse, however he was beaten by Somewhat on debut. The for of Somewhat hasn’t held up at all, with the likes of Berkshire being beaten and his 5th yesterday.

JUST THE JUDGE finished 2nd in the 1000 Guineas last year and then went on to win the Irish version. She wasn’t disgrace at Royal Ascot with a very nice 3rd in The Coronation Stakes. In her two races after that she seemed to lose her way with results not going for her in a couple of Group Ones. However she’s back down to a Group 3 today and if she can show some of the form that had her winning or placed in Group 1 races last spring then she’ll be tough to beat. She’s receiving weight from the field. In short if she’s back to somewhere near her best I expect her to win this comfortably.
