TELESCOPE was highly thought off as a 3-year-old, however his Derby season, for which he was ante-post favourite for was scuppered by injury. Despite not having a full season in 2013 he still managed to show solid Group form in August. His best performance to date was his Group 2 Great Voltigeur win at York. Telescope was beaten by Noble Mission on his re-appearance at Sandown this year, by Noble Mission. Noble Mission is a consistent horse, however he still hasn’t won at Group 2 level or above, when he won at Sandown he was given an easy lead on poor ground, which proved too much for Telescope who would have needed the run.

Ryan Moore will have to be tactically aware today, as winning this from stall seven is tough, however he should get across before Noble Mission in eight. The pace will come from Ektihaam in stall four. Telescope will need to get in behind him as soon as possible, if he can do that then I expect his race fitness and class to show.

It’s hard to ignore ORCHESTRA here, this son of Galileo has a great draw in two with the best jockey in the race on top. There isn’t much to really go on form wise, both Automated and Carlo Bugatti raced in Group races last time out, however neither impressed. Therefore I’m looking at this race from the view of breeding, draw and jockyship, Orchestra comes out on top in all three of those so is my selection. Any market support, from a stable that likes a bet will only go to enhance confidence.
