I wrote a lot about VORDA and Rizeena last year and they are very closely matched on form. However one is 5.00 (4/1) and the other is 17.0 (16/1). Vorda won the 6 furlong Group 1 Cheveley Park stakes at this track back in September on Good to Firm. She’ll have something near the same conditions today. Back in September she had Princess Noor, Kiyoshi and Joyeuse in behind. Kiyoshi is now a non-runner but she has form beating Ihtimal, Sandiva and Tapestry.

Rizeena holds strong claims on what she has achieved, however she has already been beaten three times at Newmarket and finished behind Vorda at Deauville last August. Vorda comes into this race off the back of a solid prep run at Maisons-laffitte where she finished 2nd over 7 furlongs with Miss France down the field in 6th.

Whichever way I interrett the form lines in this race I keep coming back to Vorda and I can’t see why she’s a double digit price. Class horses win races and she has as much if not more class than any of the others today.

The best form in this race belongs to INTEGRAL, she won a Group 3 last year before finishing her season off with a 2nd placed finish in a Group 1 over a mile at today’s venue. The winner of that last race was the 2013 1000 Guineas winner Sky Lantern. Despite some credible runs in Group company, Gifted Girl still hasn’t won a Group race. Esoterique was a runner-up to Flotilla  in a Group 1 at Longchamps last year and that form puts her in with a chance today, however her two 4th placed finishes at Group 3 and Listed level this year are a concern. She was favourite for both of those races but faded close home.

If Integral can run to the form she showed when winning a Group 3 at Sandown last year then she should win today. That wasn’t her best piece of form but first time out I expect her to run to that sort of level, before running in some big Group One races later in the season.
