Probably one of the worst Group One races we’ll see this season, it’s a real shame that Thistle Bird is absent as she would have won this so finding a bet would have been easier. Sultanina and Narniyn have shown their best form on going with soft in the description, so the good to firm would be a worry for them. Amazing Maria has won a Goodwood twice, but both of those runs were over seven furlongs. She finished last in the Oaks over twelve last time out, so there has to be doubts as to whether she can stay the ten furlongs in this especially when she will front run.
Mango Diva finished four lengths behind Thistle Bird at Epsom earlier in the season and on a form line through that, VENUS DE MILO should have the beating of her. The O’Brien horse got within three lengths of Thistle Bird in a Group One last time out, which looks to be the best recent form in this race. Going a little further back she finished 2nd in an Irish Oaks on Good to Firm and also finished 2nd in Yorkshire Oaks, behind The Fugue. She’s probably at her best over a further distance but with enough question marks and lack of form from the other runners, she looks to be the safest bet.
