Godolphin usually send their good fillies here and having won the race for the last five years it makes sense to side with them again.I was initially interested in Efflorescence but as the markets moved this morning after the overnight rain my preference changed to Winters Moon. Efflorescence is now a non-runner, so it’s made my decision easier. WINTERS MOON has already won over course and distance on her only start to day, so improvement is expected. The 2nd in that race, Shagah, then came out and won comfortably at Goodwood last week.

Arabian Queen has the leading form claims after she landed a Group Two over six furlongs last month, however she is now penalised for that and was also given the run of the race on soft ground, this should be tougher for her. Alonsoa won a listed race over seven furlongs last time out, beating Pack Together by three quarters of a length.

Eight of these runners realistically have some sort of chance in this, but the course and distance form plus the run of Shagah at Goodwood tip the balance in the favour of Winters Moon for me.
