Day 1 at Aintree was profitable, Arzal winning at 7.00 made sure of that. Unfortunately I changed my mind on Apple’s Jade, but she put in the type of performance I felt she was capable of when I backed her at Cheltenham. Fair play to Cue Card, he’s been a highlight of the season even though I’ve never put a penny on him. I thought that Annie Power would do something special and win by ten lengths, she won by eighteen and showed that she’s all class, hopefully we get to see her v Faugheen at Cheltenham next year.

It proved a fruitless task opposing LIMINI at Cheltenham and even though I feel I should oppose her again today, I can’t at odds-against.
Buveur D’Air looks like a good prospect and he ran with credit after an in-efficient ride in The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. However my issue with him is that he looks like he’ll be suited by further and make a better chaser than a hurdler. He has the ground in his favour but a flat sharp track is a negative.
Limini is a potential group horse on the flat, will have no issues with the ground and put to bed any of the doubts about her ability to jump, last time out. She looks like she has more gears than anything in the race and she definitely would have been battling with Min and Buveur D’Air for second and third place at The Festival.
I thought that the Mullins/Walsh/Ricci/Mares bandwagon would have made her and odds-on shot, so I’m happy to get involved at the prices.
BACK LIMINI AT 2.38 (General)

Blacklion is a game horse and will always battle to the line, however I don’t think he’s the best three mile novice chaser about. He won an RSA whereby the favourite, More of That, burst a blood vessel and bled from both nostrils. The second favourite, No More Heroes, was fatally injured and Shaneshill, RSA second, is a consistent horse in the form of not actually winning races.
Yesterday afternoon UN TEMPS POUR TOUT was second favourite for this race, the market has at least corrected that part and he’s now the outright favourite. He was fantastic when winning a handicap on the first day at Cheltenham, finally showing exactly what he is capable of when putting it all together over fences.
The Pipe horse was a top class hurdler, and showed that when winning the Grade One French Champion Hurdle at Auteuil last season. I think he’s the best horse in the race and as long as he puts it all together today I think he’ll win well.
BACK UN TEMPS POUR TOUT AT 3.00 (General)
