Royal Ascot – Day 5

Exosphere was very impressive at Newmarket last time out, beating Simple Verse by four lengths. However I’m not sure he should be a strong favourite for this. That day at Newmarket he was receiving 2lbs from Simple Verse and the odds-on favourite Jack Hobbs was pulled up injured.

At the prices I think that HIGHLAND REEL is he bet to have, he’s a dual Group One winner in a Group Two and doesn’t need to show any improvement on what he’s achieved in his career to date to win this.

BACK HIGHLAND REEL at 12.00 (William Hill, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power)

TWILIGHT SON has to improve on his season re-appearance, where he finished fifth at York. He should strip fitter for that run and has four and a half lengths to make up on Magical Memory,¬†however he did beat that horse in The Sprint Cup at Haydock last season, before running second to the excellent Muhaarar on Champions Day at Ascot last season. If he reproduces his three-year old form then he’ll go very close.

BACK TWILIGHT SON at 5.50 (Coral)
