FOUND is one of the horses I almost always back, she’s never run a bad race. In 2015 she finished second to golden Horn in The Irish Champion Stakes, second to Fascinating Rock in The Champion Stakes and then won The Breeders’ Cup Turf, with Golden Horn back in second.
Her 2016 campaign started off with a third place at the Curragh, when she needed the run, however the form of that race has worked out well. She then won a Group 3 at the same venue turning around the form with Success Days. That was followed up by another second place behind Fascinating Rock in the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup, a runner-up spot behind Postponed at Epsom in the Coronation Cup. She then went to royal Ascot where she finished second in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes, again another Group 1.
The biggest ‘problem’ that Found ahs had in her career is that she continues to run in the top races involving male horses. To continually beat these horses as a filly you need to be really top class, a horse like Treve for example. Found isn’t at that level but she’s a consistent Group 1 performer at a better level than this race today. She has the best form in the race and is running against her own sex. Looking down the card I don’t see a horse that can get anywhere near to the achievements of Found and therefore she is a worthy favourite and a must bet.
